FTHS Sketch Challenge #168 & coloring video

¡Hola!
I am back with a card for the FTHS Sketch Challenge #168

I had a hard time with this sketch,
I wasn't sure how to interpret the waves.
I think on the end, I figured it out and love how it turned out.
This is the sketch I followed and flipped to make it work.

 The background
Step 1. For this card I created the background using distress inks.
Yes, you heard me right.
I have a few distress ink and every few month I try to use them.
I am not a distress ink lover...but I keep trying to figure them out.
Inks used:

Step 2.  I proceeded to cut the background piece to 4.25" and 5.5" and
then into wavy strips to resemble the sketch.

Step 3. I glued the pieces onto black cardstock.

Step 4. Copic coloring, here are the colors I used.

I made a YouTUbe video for the coloring process of this cute little piggy.
Be advised, when I was almost done, I received a hone call
so my phone stopped recording.
I finished the coloring on a second video, sigh!
Part 1 is linked below, part 2 is linked on youtube.

You can watch my coloring:
 below | or on YouTube

Other thinks I used:
Chevron die: Sizzix Banners, Chevrons and Clouds die set
hugs die: from my stash!
Piggy: FTHS image
wink of Stella
Scan N Cut2 to cut the image

Another closeup - hope you can see the shimmer!

UPDATE:

* Copic UK April 2017 Anything goes Challenge and WON!!!!
(Winner was picked randomly, but still :)
A win is a win!
* Chatty Scrapper Inspiration Board Challenge - I won that one as well!!

Stamp of the Month for March 2017 Lucky Lil Birdie
He is a cutie!!

I also used three different embossing folders
from Darice: Clouds and Dots
From Stampin Up: hexagons
And tons of Wink of Stella!

Enjoy.

Hey Chick!: Thank you postcards - Blog post & YouTube process video

¡Hola!

I wanted to say Thank you to the friends who ordered during my Stampin' Up (SU) party.
So when I got my goodies, I had to play right away.

To create these postcard I used:
Stamp: SU So very much
Stamp: SU Hey, Chick
Stamp: SU Wanderlust
Inks: SU Blushing Bride
Ink: Versafine Black ink
Embossing powder: SU clear
Paper: SU Blushing Bride &
 100# White Cardstock from Michael's
Embossing folder: SU Honeycomb
(Although I decided not to use it in subsequent cards)
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles

Back of the card:
Here I used the "postcard" and "heart" stamps from SU's Wanderlust.
 I used 100# white card-stock for stability.
Using white card stock allowed me to write
a personalized message to each recipient.

Overall, a cute and easy to make Thank you postcard to express my gratitude!

Another closeup at the postcard without the Honeycomb embossing folder.
I like this design better, so I didn't used the the embossing folder in subsequent cards.

Want to see how I made them?

Enjoy and keep on stampin'!
