Mother's Day Card series card #8: Hot Air Balloon "Blue"

¡Hola!

Here is my last card for this Mother's Day Card series. 

It is a variation of the Hot Air Balloon - which makes me smile.

For this card I added a little bit of Distress Ink to the background.

I was watching Amy R from Prairie Paper Ink 

and she was watercoloring and I got inspired!

Card #6 of this Mother's Day Card Series is here!!

Again same basic design with a few changes.

For this card I added some purple ink on the white base card - 

not sure I love it, 

I think the ink was too dark and it looks dirty

But I am embracing it and using the card - 

because I LOVE THE HIPPO!!!

Flip & Fold Card for SWAP

¡Hola!

Flip & Fold card

Today I am sharing with you my "Flip & Fold card" 

for the swap of the same name.  

It is an easy way to fold and it adds a little pizzazz to your cards.

• What I used:

Base: 5" x 12" Double sided Stampin' Up (SU) paper

Score base at: 2", 4", 8", and 10"

Message Panel back: SU's Island Indigo : 3.5" x 5.25"

Message panel (white): 3.25" x 5"

Dies: SU label dies (paper - Island Indigo)

Panda digital stamp: By 2CuteInk

Scribble lines die: From my stash

• Process:

Step 1: Cut base, 5" x 12" 

Step 2: Fold base in mountains and valleys - like an accordion!

Step 3: Cut the top on a diagonal - 

from the fold next to the message panel to half of the end border of the card. 

Half is at 2 3/4" (Since the card is 5 1/2" tall). 

Do not discard the triangles. 

You will use them to decorate the cards shown below.  

Step 4: To decorate: glue the triangles to the card. 

Match the folds on the card to the ones on the triangles. 

Step 5: Glue message panel and decorate card.

I used a cute Panda from 2CuteInk, 

a SU label framelit die, scribbly lines dies, and 

major Wink of Stella.

A thank you card for Mr. T - our neighbor & coloring video

Hola, 

I am back with a thank you card for our awesome neighbor Mr. T.

A few weeks ago we had a bad snow storm and Mr. T saw my kiddos 

shoveling my daughter's car out and he came to help.

I thought this bear from 2CuteInk was super appropriate!

I think my kids learned a few lessons that day:

1. always help your brother or sister,

2. help a neighbor if you have a chance,

3. and always, always be thankful when someone offers you help.

Kathy at the Daily Marker is at it again! 

She has just started the new 30 Day Coloring Challenge...

I have been sick with a nasty cold so I haven't been crafting much.

Finally today I feel better and wanted to do some coloring.

These digital stamps are from the 2CuteInk December 2016 release.

I used Copic Markers and I hope you like them!!

The colors on the poinsetta: R37, 29, 27, RV25. 

Greens: G29, 16, 05, 03

YR24, Y38-35

The blues on the penguin: B18-16-14.

Penguins scarf: RV25, 14, 13

Oranges: YR18, 15

grays: W2-00

I didn't write the colors I used on the other 3 images, so I can't include them here. However the reds are RV69, R46, 29, and 27.

Fancy edge cards & How to video

Do you like that fancy edge on my card? :)

Hola!!!

I love, love, love using thin metal dies in my cards and projects.

And always try to purchase ones that I can use over and over. 

Needless to say I have rectangles, squares, ovals, and circles galore, 

and use them in every single card!!!

But every time I think I have everything I will ever need 

MFT comes out with something new :) 

Yeah, you feel me, right?

So here it is: MFT came out with Stitched Basic Edge dies.

Yeap...another set I must have.  

But my engineering degree came to my rescue...again :) 

I am looking at the angles and figured I could do that too.  

My solution: re-invent the way I use my shaped dies.

I got so excited I even made a video!!!

Card 2. I used the largest oval from Stampin Up Oval framelits.
