Card following MFT Sketch Challenge # 314

I am all about MFT lately, so here is my first challenge.

I am following Sketch No. 314.

I did invert it a bit so that my elf wouldn't be looking into dead space :)

As part of my new year resolution, I am trying to link my blog and youtube channel, 

so I made a short video showing how I put this card together.

Diagonal stripes embossing folder by Darice

Gina Marie Designs Wonky Rectangles die

Cardstock: Michael's 100# cardstock

How do you store your taller MFT stamps?

Happy New Year...Feliz Año Nuevo 2017

Organization is always a hot topic after the Holidays...

if you, like me, made it in the NICE list that is :)

Santa gifted me with several new stamp sets. 

Among them a few are from MFT, which tend to be a little taller than most.

The issue: The taller 4" x 8" MFT stamp sets do not fit in the regular pockets I currently use. 

 See picture below.

My current method of stamp storage: Avery Elle Stamp Storage pockets.

Avery Elle Pocket Size:  Approximately 5 3/8" x 7 1/4"

What to do?

Option 1: Buy larger pockets. MFT sells them.

Option 2: Make your own taller pocket. I made a video for this option.

Those two options are not really good for me at the moment,

since my Avery Elle pockets are in cubes, which height is set at 7 1/2".  

Soooo...taller pockets are a no go!

What do I do now?

- Make the MFT stamps fit into my current stamp pocket system!!

How?

Change the configuration of the stamp set to be wider instead of taller.

For this I re-arranged the stamps!!!

I tried to keep most in the same spot they were, 

that way I kept the integrity of the way the stamp set looked as best I could.

Then I repositioned the ones that were over the 7" mark.  

For this set I moved 6 of the stamps:

The elf with the gift,

the stocking,

I hope Santa spoils you rotten,

You are a friend like no-one elf

the snowflakes, and

the ornament.

Sharing my Love Cynthia Haul

Hola!

I do hope you are all doing well! I am sick, but pushing through.  

I have a bit of energy today and wanted to share a new to me company of stamps.  

Her name is LOVE CYNTHIA and she is a mazing! 

She resides in France, and ships internationally. 

She designs, and sells her stamps online.

I have been following her for a about a year now a

and I am finally the proud owner of several of her sets.

Christmas Card Series - Cheery Christmas stamp set - Card #10

Hola! 

And here it is....Card #10!!

I did it!!! :) I designed 10 different cards using the same stamp set!!

 Wooohooo!!!

If you are new to my blog, 

I purchased the Lawn Fawn's Cheery Christmas stamp set 

this past September '16 while attending

 the Scrapbook Expo Convention in MA.  

My goal was to design at least 10 different cards using this set...

and so the Christmas Card 2016 Series got started.

Card # 10 was a true challenge.

I am new to the distress inks world. 

Although I have owned them for over a year, 

I don't know how to use them or blend them.

So here is me trying :)

I do like how it came out though.  

So much that I am willing to give distress inks another shot!

Since it was my last card of the series, 

I even filmed a video as I created it.

I am not sure how to edit yet.

And since I do this for fun and I am just enjoying my craft 

I don't worry about it too much.

No stress zone here!

Christmas Card Series for 2016 Card 9 - Cheery Christmas

This is card #9

using the Lawn Fawn stamp Cheery Christmas!!

        

I am still enjoying using Lawn Fawn's Cheery Christmas.  

I challenged myself to design 10 different cards using this stamp set. 

I am very happy that I have completed 9 of the 10 so far.  

The 10th card will be coming soon!!

Merry Christmas Die: Stamps of Life Merry Christmas 3D Drop In dies

Gina Marie Designs Wonky Rectangles

Embossing folder: Darice Tree trunk

White paper: Hammermill 100# great for Copic coloring

I used Copic markers to color the squirrels and 

Wink of Stella red and clear to add shimmer to these critters!

This is the card completely opened. 
 I like how the red and green play off each other.

Christmas 2016 Series: Day 8 - Cheery Christmas

Hola!

I have been super busy and it has taken me a bit longer to post my 

next Christmas Card series design using 

Lawn Fawn's Cheery Christmas...but here it is.

I wanted to focus on the squirrels this time.  

I created a large background panel and colored the cuties

 using Copic Markers. 

For the gray squirrels I used the N series grays and 

for the Brown squirrels I used the E 30's series.  

I didn't write them down, so I honestly couldn't tell you specifics, sorry.

I also created a video showcasing the card assembly process.  

I am trying to link my youtube channel with my blog...

hoping to get my creations out there.

Christmas 2016 Series: Day 7 - Cheery Christmas

Hola!!

Card #7 

I added a digital image from 2 cute ink's October 2016 release.

The skunk is actually a Cowboy Skunk!  

I added lights to his rope and cover his cowboy hat with 

a Santa hat from Stampin' Up "Button Bear".  
I also colored him up with Copics!

  

For this card I used the tree, star, little Santa's hat, 

and sentiment from Cheery Christmas stamp set.
